Let's see. I did the check-in for the 48HR Film Fest on friday, and then dinner with friends afterward. I came home and felt very very guilty because Hannah was away, and as of yet, dog/cat interactions are not such that the cat will come out until the dog is closed up in his room for the night. So poor dog had to sleep all by himself. On the couch, so I'm not too worried that he suffered or anything.

Saturday I started cleaning, which mostly involved putting all the stuff that doesn't belong in my room into the living room, and putting the stuff that does belong in my room into the right places. The back half of my room (where my bed is, for example) was still packed full of random bags of books, but the catbox and the rolly cabinet were both where they were supposed to be. My 4 gb of ram came, so I installed that (sweet!) and then had my computer go through a little nervous breakdown. I did laundry, as usual, and for dinner I made fried tofu that turned out perfectly.

Sunday I got up, cleaned everything else out of my room (temporarily or for good), and ran the robot. I started repairing the desktop, and then mopped the bedroom floor (no tiny footprints anymore) and went up to Harvard for the Mayfair. I bought a handful of things (incidentally, it is SO WRONG to go things like this and not be able to buy funnel cakes. I miss funnel cakes.), including a birthday present for Jenny that I have ready to mail because seriously, it is so perfect I can't wait until September to send it. And possibly a mother's day card. And came home and went through my card collection to find a birthday card for my sister-in-law (no luck, it's off to the store at lunch) and two other possible mother's day cards.

I have a really beautiful wedding card, which I bought without an intended recipient, so I was looking at it last night and thinking, "Oh, I can give this to Kirsten and Mal." and then I came to my senses for it is the least Kirsten and Mal card i know of, short of something with smooching birds. (There are birds. They are not smooching. But still.) I reassembled the part of my room still undone, and put the last extras in the room (a number of bags of books)aside to be sorted when I have the inclination.

I decided that stop gap measures to keep my computer going was a bad idea at this point--it's been giving me a BSOD over the video driver on a regular basis for about 6 months, I just did a repair a few months ago when it corrupted some important file, and thus, scary as it is, it was time for a complete reformat. I *should* be okay, as I have a backup drive. We'll see tonight. I had to do some final backing up last night, while I made dinner, and then started the reformat. There was a slight error--it keeps getting stuck on a video thing and not responding to the keyboard. And I'll have to test CDs in the player when I get home, and things like that. SO EXCITING.

Except not really. (Oh, so the last time it had a nervous breakdown? 3 months ago, basically, when the *last* issue of Ideomancer was due in galleys. Ah, the timing.

Oh, and I made tomato cream pasta for dinner. YUM. And then had Key Lime Meringue Pie for desert.

Are the birds, perhaps, drunk and fucking?

See, that would be a card that I *would* give to you guys as a wedding card. Since I said I wouldn't, you can assume they are not.

J and I have an Artist Photo of 2 ravens smooching. And yeah, they really are; it's a courtship behavior.

That's not the way to bet, though.

Birds, smooching and otherwise, are appropriate for many many people in this world. They're just people other than Mal and Kirsten. :)

The card i have is lovely, and will go to my cousin. I think it is much more appropriate for her, though I may still put a snarky comment in it. The card will be in lieu of me since I have Kirsten and Mal's wedding that weekend. :)

Well, I'll admit to being a sucker for the ravens. :)
