Jul. 28th, 2006 06:45 pmI spent $34 on about 8 tops (and another 4 for a purse. because I need another purse) today, despite the fact that it was so hot I wasn't willing to try them on (no air conditioning at the garment district). Ultimately, I decided that either they'll fit or they won't, and $4.50 a piece for a shirt that I can't wear ever is only a just punishment, particularly since I picked careful fall-weight work-type clothing (the trying them on bit was further hampered by the idea of putting on long sleeves and knit materials.) I'll keep you all updated on the suitability of all of them, of course. They're pretty, of course--a pink sweater set that shades to white by the hem, a blue square necked sweater with a lacy edge, another sweater set in a lavender blue, a grey sheer-ish top, a green almost camo-ish top, and a ridiculous little tank top I got mostly since it was so hot I wanted to buy as little fabric as possible. They're all probable sizes, nothing seriously pushing the envelope, and all classic styles, so with any luck I will be rewarded for my daringness.
I also got a nice pair of Danskos for $10. could have had two for 20, but the second pair was much more worn and a little bit bigger, so I resisted. Probably shouldn't have, but I'd forgotten it was 50% when I'd been deciding about shoes (I remembered by the time I was looking at the clothes, though.
There may be a storm brewing, and Chance is attempting to convince me to skip meeting next week and go to dinner with visiting peoples. I want to, I really do. I may talk with the other clerks, see if there's any support for Chance. I will now put on a shirt, go downstairs, and get my dinner from the fridge before coming back up here to see Scrubs.
