Aug. 3rd, 2002 11:53 pmWell, it worked out okay. A big old thunderstorm came through about 30 minutes before the wedding. The really evil part missed them (though it caught us on the beltway but good), but cooled everything off beautifully. And while we were nearly an hour late, the wedding didn't start for another 15 minutes. And it was very pretty, even if we couldn't hear anything several times. I don't cry, but I still got nearly teary eyed realizing how cute the whole thing was. We(me and the bride) first noticed the groom at a coffee shop around here in November or so. They had their first date December 15th. They were engaged Feb. 15th. I helped the bride, my officemate, pick out her wedding dress (oh, so pretty. I took her to Monsoon, which has just the loveliest clothing. And if anyone finds a top that goes with a jeweltone green shiny skirt, let me know. THe skirt was $25, and I loved it. Maybe black knit with sequins? I don't know.). And all of a sudden, it was today, and we were at the wedding. and they looked so sweet and so happy. And the wedding was gorgeous. We sat at a table with a couple of his cousins, one of whom my roommate totally hit it off with. Me and taken boys, my roommate and Spanish boys. And they changed midway through the evening into traditional Moroccan garb and she looked like a princess. We were all very impressed.

I love weddings, though. I never get to go to any these days. Everyone I know is either married or gay. Hmpf.
