So far there's been shouting that I could hear from the bedroom window--from the commons or Kerry's place, I don't know. Fireworks last night. Helicopters for a couple of days, and police all over the place. In some ways it's nerve wracking for the same reason DC was, but at the same time, it's not. These are copters keeping an eye on the crowds, same as they did in DC for protests--they're usually only alarming when I don't know why they're where they are.
Eyes Wide Open, a anti-war protest exhibit will be in our meeting room for the next two days.
Walking to the library today, I saw few workers, even though I was out at a normal lunch hour. Lots of people with convention badges. Beacon Street was nearly completely empty when I walked to work this morning. A car stopped for me. There were no others on the road. The streets were emptier than early morning called for.
