Jul. 22nd, 2004 04:31 pmIt's Michael Hutchinson's daughter's 8th birthday, and so they're playing 'Beautiful Girl." on my radio station. I sniffle a little. The first time I remember actually understanding the TV was when I saw the report of his suicide on MTV Italia--sui-morte, they said, and I thought "Wait, I know what that word means, and it's not good." (the moment that I recognized the radio conversation was also not so good--terra-moto, the earthquake in Assisi)
And a little quote thing from my primary sources today:
"Language is not a substitute for reality; rather it is a means to express experience and to approach reality. "
