Of all the things to have the urge to hum, Beethoven's Ninth is way high on the list of things that make you look snobby, just so you know.  but it was lovely.  So pretty.  For most of it, I lay on my back in the grass and watched the sky get dark while the music played.  I haven't heard the 9th in *years*, but it was amusing me how much of it i recognized.  I don't think I could identify it if you played it to me and asked me what it is, but every time they started a new movement, I'd think, Oh, yeah, that's right. 

600 words on the angel smut.  I need to cover a couple more points, and then I'll have another chapter finished, and be ready to start writing things that I don't know anything about, as they're not in ther previous version of this tory.  Which is scary.  Plus, I'm pretty sure I need a subplot, and I don't think I can make the subplot and the plot both be about them both..

You caused me to search through my MP3s to find the 9th from Billy Joel's Millenium Concert... Great tune to hum, but I don't think it makes you snobby at all. :-)I think it was used in the Die Hard movies to decent effect.

My excuse for humming classical music now is the Baby Einstein DVDs (classical music "videos" for tots with puppets, toys, and other imagery).

My excuse used to be manymanymany years of "classical" training. Which is probably why I also like that other "snobbish" genre of music, jazz. *wink*

I don't think it's snobbish at all! :-D

What is it about those videos that's so *mesmerizing*? My husband's cousin put one on to bribe her daughter to be quiet during a family reunion, and we all ended up watching it for half an hour.
