meh. no news from the temp agencies. I realized, as I was walking back to the house a little while ago that this is exactly what I hated the very very most about my job. I'm perfectly willing to do innane scutwork. I resent having to nag people to find me innane scutwork. I mean, fine, I'll do invoices, I'll file, I'll do anything, just don't make me call every single day and beg for something to do. It just seems unfair to me. Mostly because I hate hate hate calling people. Hate!

I went into town today to drop off the application and go to the library. Chickened out of the drop off because the House looked very formal and scary. :) Well, actually because they had all their doors shut and no mail drop sort of place. Which probably means that the mailman takes it in, if it's at all like the other meeting houses I've seen, but it worried me so instead I went postoffice hunting. It's about a 15 minute walk from Haymarket, and easy as anything to get to. (I'm thinking I'll look up buses on Sunday and see how hard it would be to get there in time for meeting. I could either hang out and meet up with Dena later, I think, or go home the way I got there.) It's the street behind Beacon street, one block down from the state house or whatever the place with the shiny gold cap is.

So I walked down from there to Tealuxe, on my way to the library, and realised that the one post office I can find in the city was only two blocks from Tealuxe, and barely out of the way for going to the library. So I bought my Chai (from the cute blond counter boy I missed the last two times I was there) and cut over there, bought stamps (whee!) and mailed it off. It could get there tomorrow, I think even. and blast! I forgot my aunt's email address on it. At least she's the closest for snail mail. And I also forgot her house number, but I bet they'll find her anyways. :)

And then the library, and another big stack of books. I discovered the YA room which wasn't exactly all that but *does* have a very nice selection of SF there, nicely grouped so I don't have to walk all over the place looking for it, so I stocked up again. And then took the metro back, but forgot to check where it ended, so I had to walk from Government center (well, I didn't *have* to, but it's only a few blocks, and i had time before the bus left, I knew). And this was good because I stopped by the CVS and bought pain killers (ooh, I should buy them the next time I need pads and chocolate, because my life is not stereotypic enough yet).

And the bus home took forever (an hour), but my feet felt okay even all the way here, though my knee creaks inside when I flex it. A little grindy bit, whee. :) Just the one. I need to get my mom to send me the glucosamine stuff. I hate having a creakety knee. I may be a little sunburned, it's hard to tell. My face feels slightly pink along the cheeks, so I should go downstairs and put on moisturiser. Bah.

Hmm. Apparently my best bet for getting into town on Sunday would be the commuter rail--3/4 a mile walk from here, and then change to green line, and zip over to park street metro. I wonder if my brother would come along with me if I asked nicely.
