Hmm. So Friday I had work--mind bogglingly dull work, too. Blah. but hey, that's $65 (before taxes) that I didn't have before, so there.

Saturday I considered walking around a little, and discovered that I'd pushed too hard during the week and every joint was threatening to strike. So I came back to the house, sat with my legs up on the couch, and read and watched bad TV. soooo bad TV. I threatened to get my roommate a copy of the Beastmaster season one DVD.

Oh, speaking of my roommate--she has Mullins on her voicemail message. As in, "Hi, you've reached Chris and Mullins." I think this is a very bad sign, but I can't decide if it's better or worse than having his name in her email address.

Sunday I got a lift into the city with Dena, and did a lot of walking around, first while waiting for my brother to get into the city (he had to go jogging first. blech), and then with my brother. Very small city. In the course of the day I walked from Haymarket to the area above the commons, walked around there for a bit while waiting for him (I had a black raspberry milkshake, whee!), then we walked down through the commons (he bought 'fried dough', which I stole pieces from, and then took some pictures with his brand new tax money camera, including some very cute ones of a squirrel to terrify a friend of his with. (I used a piece of the fried dough to tempt the squirrel into cute poses--when I gave it to him later, he turned up his nose at it.) And we walked almost all the way down Newbury street, and I saw the street that I had been working on was just a block down from it, and he took me to Lush, where a friend of his works, and I got a free piece of soap, whee! (and it smells so good. I may have to actually buy it in the future.) And we went to Avenue Victor Hugo, which had a very cheap copy of Kiss Chase, which I would have bought even if it wasn't 50% off. Since it was, wheeeeeee! Plus, now I can lend it to people, which I didn't do before because I treasure it so much for some very weird reason.

Um, and then back to meet Dena, oh and I stopped at TeaLuxe to get, well, tea, so I could take my painkillers because I was in need of them by then, only I completely forgot. (which really sucked, because I sat and waited for Dena for a bit, since I got there early, and by the time she got there, I could barely put weight on my feet for several minutes.) And back through the park, and I called my dad who was pleasant and not rude and I didn't regret calling him by the end of the conversation, which is rare. And I called my aunt after that, and apparently my dad had actually told her I moved up here, but she was very nice to talk to, and invited me out to Plymouth for the weekend sometime, and told me a place to look for housing, which I'm trying but can't seem to find anything about it (Oh! there we go. Beacon Hill Friends Meeting House: http://www.bhfh.org/Bhfh-Residency.html )

Oh, and after I ditched my brother (or vice versa), I bought my mom some eyeglass holder findings and beads to go on them, and a very fabulous magnet that just begged to be mailed to her as well.

Today I ran errands with Dena. At Borders, I read a chapter in a book called The center of everything that I almost bought but not quite, read the scifi channel's magazine cover to cover practically for the beautiful boys in it, read the first chapter of the new Jennifer Crusie (want, but it's hardback, alas. I need to go to the library.), and made a note to tell my pusher that there's a new Wendy Holden book she can keep an eye out for me (and for that matter, and of that sort of book, which I think she knew but doesn't always remember when book finding. :). I bought a mother's day card there, and two more at Target, and then grocery shopping and then back here.

And I'm wondering if the sff.net address is just not getting mail or if it's more that *I* am not getting mail. Both are sad options.

Bet Me, Celia? If so, I have it, signed, even, and I would let you borrow it if you promise to give it back. It was the first book I've ever read by her, and very good, too! :)

(She actually lives about 20 minutes away from me.)
