Good but not quite good enough. Of course, perhaps they were scared of a skilleting ("Ha' a heidful o' skillet, yon editors," or something like that), so they decided not to go for the rewrite way. But probably not.

Plus, too many selkie stories. And they didn't say anything but the fish sex probably wasn't hot enough. So now I need to think about where it's going next and why and all. Maybe ROF. Looks like now would be a pretty good time to sub it there. A little early, but not too bad, probably. And I'm at just a month with Asimov's, so that's maybe two more there, and however long at IM, so probably at least three months, which I'd think would be enough time at ROF. We'll see.

Are you talking about a wait time in between submissions? I mean... I know you're not supposed to have more than one thing at any particular market at a time, right? But are you talking about waiting a while in between submissions so that they don't see your name too often?

No, I'm talking about wait times at markets. ROF takes a while with my stuff because it's passed up to the editor, so I want to time it well enough that I don't end up tying up a story and a market when I need one or the other of them.
