I wasn't waffling! I know I'm strong, just like I know I'm smart and silly and all that. I never said I wasn't sure if I was strong. What I said I wasn't sure about was if it was a virtue or a flaw. I've always seen it as a virtue. Every woman in my family is strong, most of my friends are strong, and to suddenly find people who don't see strength as a feminine trait was very odd and threw me. But I'm pleased to see that I'm right, that guys--at least some of them--see strength as an important thing.
As far as the rest of the paragraph is concerned, every boy I've asked so far can tell the difference between a sundress and a dress. And when you say the word "sundress" most of them get misty eyed for a moment. So I'm standing by my descriptors there. Now, if I'd said "lilac sundress" you could complain that he wasn't 'manly' enough. Oh, except that the character is a gardener. So he could say that too. I win!
