Saw Numbers. no clear view of the ring. BOOOO. There was some impressive sparkle, though.

(maybe next season?) Also, Gaius Baltar was the bad guy. I totally missed that since Gaius = hot and this bad guy was basically Charlie Manson.

I tried my spindle finally for the first time. It is meh. It wobbles and doesn't spin very easily. I now need to find a new one. A bottom.

I can not find a way to suggest panels to Dragoncon. Dear Dragoncon, I hate you.

I would think that to suggest panels you need to join the lj community or whatever for the track you want to suggest for.

One of our Ravelry knitting peeps makes beautiful spindles!

Jesh is terrifically funny and cool, and I am actually about to purchase one of her spindles myself, just to show my support, as opposed to any desperate need to spin. We're about to acquire a spinning wheel, so I'm going to jump on the bandwagon in a small way, then maybe someday I'll get to use the big wheel!

Those are GORGEOUS, but I need a bottom whorl, which apparently no one makes. (I don't hate top whorls as much as I could, but they're top heavy and wobble, and l like bottom whorl better, as it's what I was taught on.)

This from a contact on Ravelry...

"Jesh is starting to make some lovely bottom whorls….I saw ‘em. I think she’s still refining them.

Schacht and Louet make basic bottom whorls; in fact, the Schacht is designed to be ‘Hi-Lo’, useable as a high or low whorl. The Loopy Ewe carries those."

I also saw a reference to Bossie Spindles, by these folks:

I'll let you know if I hear from Jesh! Or write her via her Etsy store! Maybe she's ready to go on the bottom spindles...

I decided that for now, I will get this: http://www.etsy.com/view_transaction.php?transaction_id=16462801 which is a nice looking basic one with pretty roving.

If I love it, I can then move on to different sizes and fancier ones, and possibly top ones. And the Louet one I have that's a top whorl is the evil one--from using Jodi's I think it's too light and off balance, so I don't like that one at all. I may try top whorls again if I like spinning enough, but for now, I'll try a nice basic thing and see how that works. (I love the look of the Butterfly girl ones, for example, so I might get one from her once I try more.)
