Saturday with the animals

tanaiseThere was just both the dog and the cat in the room, without fireworks.
They are at that point where they are like a broken up couple who accidentally both get invited to the same party. There is studious not-looking on the part of the dog who was sitting on the sheepskin and blatant ignoring on the part of the cat who was lying in the doorway. This is an improvement over earlier today when they saw each other in the hallway, and the cat had to run by and hide behind the couch. Of course, the improvement may have been in no small part due to the fact that the cat is a drug addict, and was lying licking the floor. Last night he found and destroyed the backup bag of catnip for his squirrel in about that same spot.
I was not as productive as I'd hoped today, for I did not go to a movie, or to the clothing store, and no laundry got done. BUT I took my bike out, which makes me so proud of myself. I am WOEFULLY out of shape, and I believe the handlebars need to go up a little bit, but I biked two miles round trip and did not fall under a car. Granted, much of this may be due to riding on the sidewalks, but that's what they're there for. Also, thankfully 4 pm on a Saturday is not a car-heavy time, so even when i was on the road, there were few cars. I'd wanted to go a little further, but I was feeling wobbly so I stopped at a cute store for a soda and went back. The full trip would have been 4 miles total, so I suspect I would have been fine, but for a starter trip, this was good. And it let me try out getting the bike out by myself, which was no problem--I bumped my head, but the back of it, and I did give myself a fat lip by smacking myself in the face with the bike seat, but it's all good.
