According to the helpful little summary sheet I got recently about my changing benefits, the number 2 medical expense for my company is babies, as there were 117 in the company last year. The number 1 expense is joint degeneration, which as Andrea pointed out makes it impossible for them to get rid of both causes--can't hire the oldies, can't hire the young ones. Unless perhaps they hired more young guys. hmmm. I think they should take this plan and go with it! They've completely changed the medical plans, all of which are going from Blue Cross to Cigna. They're also changing the retirement benefits, and well, they suck.
