I'm building a list slowly of songs that will be on it.

  • Entering Marion (a special shout-out to [livejournal.com profile] podlingand [livejournal.com profile] astrophysicat.)
  • Save Yourself (I think I'll be going for a celibacy/sex kinda theme. Maybe alternate?)
  • New England (with the line "I put you on a pedestal/I put you on the pill)
  • Out/In (hello? do I need to explain this? (though I don't know if the words have anything to do with my theme.))
  • One True Love (about finding that special someone)
  • Get A Grip ( which the band calls "a wanker's anthem"--what you do (by yourself) while waiting for the one true love) (world's best video, incidentally.)
  • Kneel Down (I can't help it. It's going on the CD.)
  • Freshman (but the mustardplug (Ska) version, not the verve pipe)

finding a balance will prove interesting. Esp...... since Semisonic's most recent album was *all* about sex. (well, it's called "all about chemistry," for starters.), and some of their older songs are also about it, and, well, it's a very common theme for songs. I just happen to have a lot of weird songs about love and sex. I'll have to go through my playlist tomorrow, see what else I can find.

The most outrageous sex metaphor song in my collection is Manhole, by Karry Walker. About men crawling into a manhole in fancy plastic suits.

Mission Impossible by The Places would be on the playlist if I did such a thing. I think it's about sex and astronomy. But it's very good. The entire CD is very good, but it's not all about sex. Some of it is about mermaids and home ownership.

Sex and Astronomy? hmm. Well, there's [livejournal.com profile] astrophyisicat. Now if you could find one about sex and flying squirrels or subway weasels, I'd have a [livejournal.com profile] podling song too.

I think there's a song by Ween that goes something like:

"Squelch the little weasels / crush them before they spawn."

But that's the closest I can come.

I tried to describe this song to Clint once and he looked at me like I'd just lost my mind.

This from the man whose family owns every Goon Show record ever made.

yeah, well, deal with it. It's my CD, I can make it how I want it to be. And watch your mail. English, part 2, Randomness, and More Randomness should be there soon. And if you're really sweet, I'll put a playlist of each of them up here sometime, and you can know what songs you're listening to.

Woohoo! Yeah! I knew I liked you for some reason. I mean other than having someone to confess my deep dark obsession over weasels to...
