Dec. 5th, 2006 04:33 pmI am now reading "Tall, Dark, and Dead" which may win the stupidest paranormal award, but not any of the special categories, like stupidest with hyenas, or stupidest with anita blake, or anything like that. (though this *does* include Vatican Witch hunters, vampires, and the goddess Lilith attempting to turn the witch girl "Garnet" into her own personal killing machine.) but still, even with all that it's just....boring. oh look, Vatican Witch Hunters. Oh look, Dhampyrs. Oh look, hot undead guy and crazy undead sex. *yawn*.
I have picked out frames, and I will have glasses next week. The frames are here, and I got super thin lenses and super-duper antiglare/scratchproofing. And the last two years of my vision plan just paid for itself. My eyes are apparently very, *very* weird. My good eye isn't happy with the contact prescription now, even though that's technically the correct prescription (they used a fancy machine to check!)--it wants a stronger prescription. I don't use my bad eye at all in glasses situations, apparently, as fiddling with that prescription with my glasses didn't seem to make any difference at all. Weird, WEIRD eyes. The eye doctor agreed, though she says some are weirder. And the contacts are behaving properly, and I don't have glaucoma. I do have some weird thing going on with the inside of one eye, but it may just be weirdness since it wasn't there last year--I love the fancy test thing they have that just takes a picture of the inside of my eye instead of dilating my pupils, and part of this love is because I know they can just line up the previous year's picture and see what the differences are. But I'm still a little worried about it.
But the glasses are pretty, right? They're 'satin gunmetal' which means they're actually about silver colored, but also slightly reflective, and thus they pick up colors around them. I like them--I was torn between these and the same frames but in tortiseshell, which I was biased against by years prior, but liked. Ultimately, though, the woman helping me with frames said this one was better.

Date: 2006-12-05 10:27 pm (UTC)And I have the "fetherlite" lenses, which means they hardly weigh anything. Since contacts are out for now, these are the next best thing, really.
I made the mistake of reading that one...
