Nov. 20th, 2006 01:21 pmSo, I love the Remy Zero album, "The Golden Hum". But as I rarely listen to any album front to back anymore, it gets kinda weird, as a lot of the songs overlap--they start in the track before, and end in the following track. The new Muse CD does the same thing as well, but not to such an extent--their songs more blend into each other, whereas the Remy Zero songs seem to be aiming more for a totally organic process--it's just one big song, practically. If I were listening to this album in a medium that didn't allow me to put it on random, it would be the coolest thing ever (much like the Matt Pond CD which revisits a driving theme in the begining and end of the album--before dawn driving, with the lights going out moving into late evening driving with the lights coming on), but i'm not sure if it works so well in the world of now, with our shuffle and random tracks and all that.
The library books keep biting me. They've got razor sharp strip of metal in them for the magnetizing thing so I can't steal them, but instead I keep getting my fingers sliced open by them when I try to smooth the pages.
