I finally remembered the obsolete phrase I'd stumbled upon right before Barth asked about them: "Even a broken clock is right twice a day."

Writing goals for the near future: I need to a) polish up Company for Asimovs and b)figure out what the heck to send Rabid Transit.

Non writing goals for the near-er future: Go to the Gym. buy socks after working out, and maybe more sweat/yoga pants. Figure out dinner (I suspect cheese toast, or possibly quesadillas. Read all the books that are due back at the library by Wednesday. Watch Bride and Prejudice and Eternal Sunshine. Stuff like that.

What's obsolete about the phrase? It may not be as common as it once was, but it's still used and valid.

Except for digital clocks, which are only right once a day.
