Aug. 16th, 2002 09:31 amI had several vivid dreams last night. Some long complicated thing with a plot and everything, something either work or boy related. Or possibly both. and this dream about an anthology I submitted to. See, I sent it in May 15th. And I've been waiting for my rejection notice ever since. And the editor's been being really good at keeping people up to date on it, and kept putting up little notices like, "most rejections have gone out now. Just 100 stories left to go through." And I kept checking my mailbox and not having anything in it. Nothing that counted, at least (though I did get a credit card yesterday that says "Finally, a world that really does revolve around you," so I'm sending that to my dad. To prove that I'm right.). And so I've been waiting and waiting for a rejection letter. And last night I dreamed it had come, and I opened it up, and it was a green piece of paper, with one of the form letter rejections that we mock on it--Not quite "you suck" but close, and then below it, a note saying they were sorry it took so long (it's been over 100 days now, and I know people who were rejected in about half that time) but my story had been late getting there cause it had been found in a stolen bag of mail. I should know one way or another in a week or so, as he said everything else is being mailed out today, so at least there's that. Right?
