Hmm. my computer may have taken to doing that thing it does right before it crashes and loses everything I love. So I'm just going to update my online files right about now.

On the other hand, it may simply be turning itself off for no good reason. But see above.

Not knowing the history of your Computer Trubbles, I'd just like to say that sometimes when computers turn themselves off, it's because they're overheating, which is easy to do when it gets hot out. Have you opened it up and cleaned out the dust and whatnot lately?

It is a laptop, so I don't dare open it up even just for cleaning purposes. That said, I don't *think* it overheated, as the keyboard was cool to the touch, and I don't think it could have been off for that long. I plan to keep an extra cautious eye on it now, though.

I've had several computers do this, and an expert friend assures me that in my case, it was the power supply. Which is easy to change out on a tower, but not so much on laptops, I imagine.

So there's another possibility.
