Aug. 13th, 2002 12:01 amIt is midnight, and I am eating dinner. and listening to slinky music. I love these guys. I've finished reading a book already. THanks to a dated cash register slip, I can see that I bought the book at 7:01. I got back to the house with it at 7:26 (having taken the slightly longer way so I could wander past the dance studio that offers belly dancing as I'm pondering it. I will undoubtedly decide against it, but I'm being very brave lately, so who knows). I didn't start reading it right away, so let's say it was 8:01 when I started reading it. Even allowing 15 minutes for doing non-reading things (I was chatting for a while there), that's still 3 hours, 340 pages. I'm not getting my money's worth here. I paid 13 something for it, so at least I'm not reading quite as fast as I make money. but I shudder to think about some of the books I'm going to be buying in the near future--hard backs of less than 70K words. I need to be making more money.
Oh, and to round out the slinkyness, we go from "Save Me" by Remy Zero to "Save yourself" by sensefield. I identify with the sensefield lyrics probably more than I should.
