Mar. 18th, 2006 07:50 pmIt's my last night in florence now, tomorrow we go off to Ravenna for two nights, then Lucca, and then I'll be heading home. I am *so* tired of pasta. :) I know, it's one of those things you don't believe can happen, but it has happened to me. Other than that, things are going well. The only downside is that my aunt goes to sleep really early--I'll go back to the hotel after this, and she'll be asleep already, which means I don't get much night life. But lots of sleep, which is good because I also get lots and lots of walking. Today, my feet hurt so much you would not believe it, mostly because we went to Fiesole yesterday, and I climbed down and back up the ampitheater. Today I bought a new bag, and then we went to an antiques market (just exactly like the flea markets, nothing special) and then to a paperback book exchange place (mostly british books, so I picked up new authors), and walked back slowly, window and otherwise shopping. And after lunch we took the bus to Piazza Michaelangelo, and then walked back from it. So I'm very sore, but it's still fun.
We were in Venice to start, and it was *so* cold there. It snowed one day, the day we'd decided to go to the islands, so that was hellish. And then we went to Cortona, and it was hillish. Just a little joke there--Cortona is on a hill, so it was up hill and downhill the whole time. Very pretty, though I stopped taking pictures once they turned into 'the same place, only from even higher up'
