My roommate broke the house again. Turned the water off to replace a toilet valve, and when she turned it back on, it made the pipes go "chunk." PLus, we can't use the sink, cause she was trying to replace the faucet. She's going to see if a plumber can fix both at the same time, but it'll take a couple days, cause they'll have to turn off water to the building. The toilet works, it just takes a while, as it just trickles the water in. And thank heavens it works, cause in March or something she 'fixed' the shower. And I couldn't bathe for a day, which really bothers me, and couldn't shower for like three days. Okay, maybe just two. But it felt like forever. She was recalking the bathtub. It seemed like a good idea at the time or something like that.

I probably shouldn't be laughing...
And, by the way, I'm jealous of all your thunderstorms. :)

I give Chris points for attempting to be The Handy Homeowner, but it sounds like maybe she needs to learn the limits of her abilities (sounds like plumbing is Right Out unless she gets some training). Here's hoping for a speedy recovery on the apartment's part.

I've managed to avoid breaking mine thus far, but in the space of two days, I spilled two ounces of hard lemonade on my (Scotchguarded, thank goodness) sofa and (cream-colored, not Scotcguarded) carpet AND spilled about 1/2 ounce of chocolate milk on the carpet in a different spot. I'm buying some carpet/upholstery cleaner tonight....and I'll probably never spill anything again.
