I must have slept funny last night, as I work up with my knee feeling like I'd wrenched it yesterday, even though I didn't. Actually, now it's feeling a little differently--still not working right, but less a wrenched feeling, so I don't quite know what it is. Probably hyperextended it in my sleep--it's my favorite bad habit lately. Of course, between the owieness and just feeling drugged when I woke up (aliens experiementing on my knee while I slept? Always a possibility) I basically staggered through my morning--shower, dress, downstairs for oatmeal, and then pause to wash out the pot that it was made in last night, start the sterilizer when the guest's dishes filled it up, eat breakfast, unload the sterilizer, wash breakfast dishes, walk out of the house, pat the neighbor's dog, walk down to the commons, realise that I don't have a) my work id b) my DC id which is enough that they'll give me a temporary pass for the building, c) my cash, D) my check card, or e) my DC id which will let them give me money at the bank. So can't get into the building, can't get anything to eat for lunch--I went back to the house and dug through everything looking for them. So I was later yet to work, and didn't get my tea because there was a line, plus the chai was icky and the black tea was assam organic, which isn't worth waiting in line for. On the plus side, my brother hit his goal for the aids program ride, it's almost friday, he said they're going to the outlets this weekend (wait, that must be wrong since he's biking this weekend--next weekend, maybe?), and when I went for my tea substitute (Barqs), I found a bag of salt and vinegar chips.

Dinner last night (two types of baba ganoush, good bread, a quinoa/eggplant/sweetcorn mixture, and a mixed greens salad with rainbow carrots in it (these were yellow, and so cool.)) had a grand total of 5 people eating. Three dishcrew, a house guest, and a housie. Plus, because the cook is in NO, the kitchen was practically clean. We'd set the table for 8, and were going to ring the bell early, only I started looking at the house list and realized that we'd over set it, as I could only find one person other than us on the list who hadn't signed out or wasn't known to be on vacation. So instead of the dinner bell, we just rang her code directly, only to find that she wasn't even in the house at the time. :) So, four of us. We'd put the food on the table instead of on the side board--very casual, but really, there's no point in getting up everytime you want seconds when we weren't even taking up a third of the table.
