Jul. 14th, 2004 01:26 amI just wrote an email to a place looking for a roommate that sounds very cool and very much like somewhere interesting to live. And I just applied for a job I don't want at all. So we'll see.
I saw Nemo, the big-headed Rottie that I met yesterday again today. His owners recognized me as well, so I got another head rub in, and told him he was going to be a very stinky dog. it was cool and misty all day. I skipped lunch and came home a half-hour early. Work was better than it has been in a while--they gave me the fun work, and I'm right, it is fun. It's debugging things that the QA has caught, which basically translates as fixings the mistakes I made in previous versions, but shhh.
Dinner was good, but last night's was better--Rice Vermicelli with carrots and raisins (non golden, so I didn't have to make icky faces about them after eating one accidentally) and coconut and rice milk, and a purple cabbage salad with a ginger something dressing and scallions--that's a salad I wanted a picture of. Tonight's dinner was mashed potatoes, which weren't as good as I wanted--the ketchup wasn't something I would have thought to put in there, and I still think it was odd and wrong, and salmon in a honey-lemon-soy reduction. And B gave me his last bite of tofu, which was...interesting, but better once I used it to mop up the salmon chunks. yes, I realize how wrong it is to say, "this tofu really tastes better with a little salmon to cut the flavor," but that's the truth there. And green beans with a sesame something dressing. it was all good, if interesting, I just...I've been more impressed in the past. We'll put it that way. I can't wait for Pad Thai. *bounces*
I have a story brewing. It's now called Finder's Fee and the Pirate, but that's a bit too cory of a title, maybe, even if it is really a cory story. I may have to change it. It does have a first line, some notes, and even a bit of a plot. I'll probably be bored with it by friday.
