What is this picture, exactly?

it's a Russian soldier confronting a Czech protestor in Prague in 1968. I'd realised when I studied the Prague spring that the protestors were about my age (22 at the time), and one of my mom's college boyfriends was that age and there at the time, but it wasn't until I saw the picture that I realized that the soldiers too would have been largely the same age.
