Jun. 29th, 2004 11:25 amI just name-dropped being a Quaker in two job applications. One because it's UU, and I want them to be jealous of my even more overwhelmingly coolness, and the other because it's a social responsibility group, so I used Quaker as code for, "Yeah, all that's really important to me too." It's also education based, so I think it would be *really* cool, though I think it's also a little fancier than I'm prepared to do just yet. But hey, I learn quickly, and that's what matters, right? Let's hope so.
The quiz I'm editing now just suggested that the Trojan War was caused by an argument between Andromache and Hector. This idea somehow really really appeals to me. Also, Andromache is the play my group made into an episode of the Jerry Springer show in my Homer and Greek Tragedy class. It was a fabulous adaptation, if I do say so myself. :)
The music industry people clearly are talking to the wrong people (probably grumpy old materialistic farts) because I just realised that in the past day I've talked to two people who have mentioned sharing MP3s, and then said, "And, I mean, if I really like it, I'll probably buy it." Perhaps they're just saying that because it's the right thing to say, but I don't think so. I bought this CD used, but since it's a 'budget CD', even new it probably would only be about $10, and I probably would have bought it anyways. Stupid music people!
My new least favorite thing to have to do is email someone I don't know here about something that I don't know anything about. I've had to do it a couple of times. Last time I had to remember what was said and write it down in such a way that the person getting the email would understand. I failed--he had to email me and the person who had said it for clarification. Today I luckily just had an email to forward. "Joanne says you'd know what to do about this." It's still annoying, cause I can't answer any questions if they have any.
