Jun. 22nd, 2004 01:08 pmSo I got an email from one of my bosses today, asking for an accounting of my time. I usually jot down a few words on a post-it note once a day or so about what I did, so I line them all up, and discover that I'm missing all of the week before last, and the week before that is pretty darn shaky, and as far as I can remember I was kidnapped by aliens, cause there's nothing coming to mind about them. So I try all my usual tricks--sent mail, which I never clean out nearly as fast as incoming mail, incoming mail (which never says, "Thank you for spending 4 hours on X, annoyingly enough so I get to say, "if I got the email at 10, and sent back the project at 2:30, did I take a lunch break in there?" Plus, on no jobs were I given account codes other than hers, and Joe told me that a number of the things I did were projects that didn't really have project codes, as they were old, etc. So I drew up my schedule of work, and managed to fill in blanks through to the black hole that apparently attacked me two thursdays ago. And so I resorted to flipping through my journal, and lo and behold, it was perfect and lovely and figured it all out. Except for the need for rounding, but I passed the basics off to my boss because I'm evil and don't care.
I'm totally being shunned by my temp agency contact, damn her.
And not surprisingly, my computer gets cranky when forced to deal with 40 meg power point files. I sympathize with it completely, as I'm rather cranky about dealing with them as well.
Perhaps I should have gotten more than 5.5 hours of sleep last night, though I'm still doing okay so far. I will probably crash any minute now though. Last night we had Pasta Timbale (it wasn't exactly like that, they were muffin sized, with red pepers and maybe spinach in them. Soooo good. And a walnut pesto cream sauce, and a scary fancy salad with brocoli. It was very yum, and if I wasn't an idiot, I would have packed some Timbale for lunch today.
I wonder if baseball would be more interesting if it involved human sacrifice.
