There's a technical term for grinding sensation when moving a joint: crepitus.  My knees have crepitus.  My ganglion cyst is back as well--for sure on my left hand, sort of my right hand.  but it's better than the deQuervain's that seems to have tapered off, thankfully. And for some reason, the joints in my hands constantly need to be popped. 

I went shopping today, bought sunscreen that doesn't stink but seems to work, envelopes, and a laundry hamper. 

Oops, I can hear people gathering for dinner, so I'm off for now.

just fyi: crepitus can also refer to the ends of broken bones grinding together. And, at least in the EMT portion of medical land, prety much ONLY refers to this. (i've never heard it used to describe joint sounds, only broken bone sounds)

I'd be a bit careful throwing the word around, or people might think your knees were much worse off than they are.
