Bah! I had this very very long post, and I lost it, and I don't even remember what all it was on. Grr. i should have saved it somewhere.

Um. Yesterday I got rained on and my computers wouldn't work, and I nearly started crying several times while still at work. Which of course makes the rest of the day all triggery, so I ended up weepy several times by bedtime. Everyone's very nice in the house, I just...don't know anyone. I missed dinner because it was too much trouble to figure out. So all I've had in the past 24 hours is two lemon blueberry muffins.

After the 14th time I felt like bursting into tears yesterday, it was 5pm, so I gave up and prepared to leave. And I stopped in the boys' room to chat with them, which I'd never felt brave enough to do before. I guess I figured if anything went badly, I was already in a crying mood. But it went really well. Joe's still my favorite, I think, which probably means he's taken, but both the other boys are cute and amusing. John, I'm betting, has a thing for skinny Japanese girls--he had a 'music from anime remixes' CD with a 'with thanks to" him in it. At that point I turned to Joe and said, "And you make fun of *me*?" "Don't worry," he said. "I make fun of him too."

But I stayed and chatted with them until the sky went nasty black-grey outside, and then realised I should make a run for it before it started raining. John was leaving then too, and I knew he walks up to the red line, so I asked if he'd wait a few moments while I packed up. He walks up to the charles street metro, and I live off Charles on Chestnut, up at the top of the hill. He was really sweet and did, so we chatted on the walk home. I think he's older than me, but I don't know for sure. Just a year or two either way.

My roommate in the house works with a boy I went to HS with. One of the girls down the hall went to Gordon College--am I remembering correctly that it's your college too, Dena?

And while I had lots of other things to mention before, I've blanked on them all now. meh. Oh well. I'll just post this as it is.

Oh hey... I FINALLY mailed you The Jane Austen Book Club on Tuesday but I sent it to Dena's address because I didn't have your new one. It should arrive soon, though. It's totally fabulous.

I hate when that happens... I think that's what makes me the most paranoid e-mail writer ever... Can't get three a three-lined note without saving it four times. :-(

Gordon College?

Yup, I went there. What's her name?

Run, don't walk - I'm the only normal person that ever attended that school :)

Though if she's living with Quakers, she might not be too bad. Oh, and I checked my email today and got a surprise - THANK YOU - that really wasn't necessary, you know ;) It feels weird to come home and not have anyone here. We'll have to get together for coffee so I can come see your room when you're settled. And go you on being aggressive with Joe - some of me must have rubbed off when you were living here ;)

yeah, and you turned out so...normal. She's sweet. I doubt that you would know her though, as she just graduated last year.

And I know I didn't have to, but seriously, my mom would have kicked my ass totally. She's got an obsession with hostess presents, and it's rubbed off. And so when I asked my dad for money, I budgeted rent, and new rent, and security deposit, and hostess present. :)
