I have a place to stay for the summer! It's good through August 31, so that gives me time to find a place for longer term. I'll make my brother start looking for things.

I think, though this is just sort of a basic plan, that I'll drop off my work suitcase there the friday in the morning before I catch the plane to Wiscon, so that when I come back on Monday, I can go there, and have stuff for work and all (assuming of course that I'll have work). This will result in some finessing of details being worked out, and I may need to leave stuff at Dena's until the following weekend (I'll hide it in the hallway!), but I'll be out of the house, and that's what counts, right? :)

I need my dad to come back from his camping trip so I can borrow a big chunk of money from him (or some portion of the ideal big chunk at least) because my finances are a bit...cramped right now, and I realised I hadn't included all the expenses I need to into the money that's in the bank, which would put me pretty soundly in the red (I get so jealous of the English Novels with overdrafts, cause I could really use one of them right now). But Eli's out of college, so my dad will have fewer bills, right? And if I need to, I'll borrow some from my mom, but she needs to be paid off faster than my dad, and I also have money elsewhere, but it's hard to get to in a hurry, so I may still need to borrow from my mom in the mean time.

Oh, and there's wiscon, which is mostly paid for, except for the room (assuming I get one) and any eating I may do there.

And paying rent to Dena.

And some bills that aren't due just yet, but will be soon.

*fret*

In other news, I had M'ris dreams last night. And I haven't a *clue* why. I mean, Mris is very nice and all, but it's not like I even know her face-to-face yet, or was thinking about her, or was reading things that reminded me of her, or really anything. And yet, lots of little dreamlets about her, or at least about who my brain told me was her, last night. (and I was woken up by Dena nearly coughing herself to death at one point--I was getting a little worried there.) And really, I don't remember anything concrete about the dreams--just lots of things about food, and huge numbers of family members (for the flexible definition of family, of course), and scandanavian stuff. Very odd. I don't suppose anyone had my dreams last night?

You should ask your bank about opening a signature line of credit and attaching it to your checking account as overdraft protection. You should be able to get a credit line of $500 or $1000 even if your credit is only so-so. Just be sure that if you use it, you pay it off fairly quickly; they usually charge a fairly high interest rate since it's unsecured credit.

Yeah, I plan to get that set up in general, after all the misery I've gone through over bouncing checks in the past few years (okay, it was just three checks total, but I'm still traumatized by it.)

What's always struck me as odd about overdraft protection is how banks don't tell you about it until you ask. I've had it on my last three accounts, but for all three I had to bring it up or the bank would have set me up without it.

I know I didn't....

I'm amused at these associations: food, large family, Scandostuff. Okay then.

It was weird. I get dreams now and then that if I was the sort to think that, I could be pretty sure weren't really intended for me, but I don't usually get dreams that I think belonged to someone specific. These were like, the 'replaying an event from my life' type dreams which I have now and then, but it wasn't *my* life that was being replayed, and it was very detailed in the way that lives are, but again, not details I knew. I wonder if Gilmore Girls is somehow to blame.

yeah, I'm not really sure how my brain works at times, but basically, Lorelai and Rory have dark hair, and you have dark hair, so it's a small step from them to you.

well, perhaps not a *small* step.

I don't mean to quibble, but in fact I don't have dark hair. I have generally non-blonde hair, but it's kind of a mid-brown with lots of blonde and red threads.

yes, but to me hair has pretty much four basic options--dark, red (which is the only one with the really detailed sublevels), blonde, and white/grey. Oh, and 'not natural' :) You think it's mid-brown, but I think all you brunettes look the same. ;P It drives my mother crazy because I'll say she and my dad had the same color hair, but she (as a dark haired person) thinks her hair was a completely different color than his is. Obviously I'll distinguish shades and such in person, but particularly when I'm working off memory and pictures and such, I use the general groups.

I suppose it's a tendancy to arrange the world around yourself. So I can see all different shades of red hair and pale skin and blue eyes, and other than that, people get grouped together in a hurry. :)
