Feb. 29th, 2004 01:38 amThe day after I finish something, I don't seem to want to think about writing. Of course, the days lately, all of them I haven't wanted to think about writing. But I packaged up Red Sky this morning and sent it off to FSF. I think John has to broaden his horizons so far as rejection letters go. I'm looking forward to "Nice writing but not enough naked chicks."
I poked around on a boston job site. There's a hella lot more jobs up there. And they actually even want qualifications I want, you know, something beyond a HS diploma and some experience. Saw one that was absolutely completely up my alley, and even pays something consistent with what I was making in DC, which is about what I'd have to make in boston to have the same, 'standard of living' In my case, it means I can pay my bills, buy things because I want them, and eat out when I don't feel like staying in. Nothing overly dramatic. I'll have to do some more serious looking around and start thinking of how to manage a month or two up there for job hunting.
It's squishy outside. Squishy is my least favorite weather. I think it should go from feet of snow to late spring over night. The squishiness just really isn't called for. Actually, it's not the squishiness that bothers me. It's the fact that it's squishy and thus I shouldn't wear shoes for they'll get dirty, but I have to wear shoes because technically the ground is still frozen. It's the inbetweens I can't stand. Transitions, like platitudes, are for wusses.
The melting snow in the dog pen gives you an idea of what the end of the ice age must have looked like to the mastodon farmers. And the rottie found some dog bones she'd misplaced before. They're a little...well, I threw the last one she brought up to the house over the fence with a shovel. As if the dog needs any encouragement to throw up lately.

Date: 2004-02-29 07:22 am (UTC)Spare bedroom is open. As long as you helped out a bit with utilities (if staying longer than a month) and weren't here indefinitely, that'd be fine. And then I could have you in Boston...hee hee!
