My mother is insane. And not the funny type of insane either, where I can just laugh at her. No, she's the sort of insane that wakes me up at 9 in the morning and then argues with me over whether or not Rufus sounds like "the guy from They Might Be Giants." urgh. other people have normal moms, why not me?

In my LJ friends list, the ratio of people with normal moms to people with crazy moms seems to be about 1:1. I conclude that either a) there are a lot of crazy moms out there, b) my friending technique selects for people with a high probability of having a crazy mom, or c) moms tend to go crazy at about the time their kids start posting to LJ.

Are you sure of that ratio? I mean, I have a crazy mom, but I would be in crazy mom trouble if I told the world about it every time it came up. So I think the hidden momly craziness is not to be underestimated.

My honest reaction was, "Other people have normal moms? Really? Who?"

There are reasons I stayed in NY when my mom moved to Tennessee, then North Carolina. She's crazy.

And T's mom is even crazier than mine. So each of us have TWO crazy moms!
