There's a band called The Fantastic Mr. Fox! I love it just for the name alone, though I may go look it up to see if the music is good.

In Dora's journal, there is a list of reasons Why Where the Wild Things Are is a subversive book, and another on why it's an important book. I agree with them all. When we were little, my mom made us Wild Thing outfits (what Max wore--the wolf suit thing) for halloween one year. Fake fur, complete with the hood-with-ears (though ours were more like hats) and tails! We wore them as pajamas, i think, until they got too small. (She made herself a hat for a costume that year as well--fake sheepskin, with black silk ears, after the sheep we had, which was probably a Clun Forest sheep)


Edit: A) My mom informs me that while the sheep hat she made probably was supposed to be a Clun Forest sheep (we go to the local fairs every year, so we get to see lots of odd breeds), our sheep was not one. She was more of a sofa, my mom says.

It is a little weird having a coworker who greets you "Hey lady," and says, "thank you dear" and stuff like that. He, however, lucks out and doesn't get sexual harassment lectures for the same reason David wouldn't. (Though I'd probably kick David and cure him that way.) It's doubly weird because I'm used to Kirsten greeting me "Hey Lady" so it's confusing when it's her words but not her voice.

It is annoying to have to call one of the tech guys up stairs (particularly as he's really the guy *in charge of* the tech guys I usually interact with) and explain how something probably needs fixed. I also feel very guilty asking for this fix because they're super busy upstairs because our content servers aren't communicating with everything they need to be communicating with (and school starts in what, a week?) I *can* get to the content other ways, it's just easiest the way that isn't working right now. And if I'm right about what's wrong with it, it's probably a 5 minute fix, so hopefully they'll give it a quick look.

And it finally occured to me that fancy though Dave Schwartz is, I probably don't need to have *both* his feed and his lj on my friendslist. I'm not going to discuss how long it took me to figure this out.
