So bored. My boss is out, and her boss is out, so I'm fidgeting, basically. I did some work earlier, but then I messed something up. Not ireversably, thankfully, and in fact I fixed it in seconds, but still, now I'm jumpy, and don't want to make mistakes anywhere. So I'm off to beg for work in a minute or so.

My CD player is being cranky. Yesterday, all it gave me on the walk home was "Read Error." which was very not happy. Luckily, it's working today. It's a sweetheart of a player, so I'd be very sad if I needed to replace it. (I did get a warranty of sorts on it, so at least I'd probably be able to replace it with a minumum of crying.

And the people I was supposed to beg are not at their computers. Hmm. Meh. Um. I had a new tea this morning, Tiger Hill Nilgiri. It's, quote, a 'subtle tea'. By which they mean, by the time I'd added milk and sugar, there was no tea taste left. But still, not bad. I miss my chai though. Today was the kasmiri, which has mint in it, and that just doens't work for me.

Library after work. and now, off to see if there is more work for me. If not, I shall make things using flash.

I have a paycheck. This is very nice. Now, all I need is a sovereign bank ATM, and i can deposit it. I could mail it home, that's also allowable, but I think if I can find an ATM, that would be faster. (I have sovereign bank. My brother has sovereign bank. I can not take a check into a bank here and say, "Please put this in my account" because they can't do it. Their systems are not actually compatible with each other. I am currently pondering opening a savings account at one of these banks and seeing if I can make their heads explode. As I think the cards remain the same and everything, if it worked, it would be the easiest thing over all, but it probably won't work. I'd need two cards or something like that.

Well, I finally ended up getting work. Not fun work, but the sort of thing that I actually enjoy. In this case, it was converting a PDF into HTML. which is easy enough, except when the PDF is columns of words. PDFs read text across the page, not down. bah. I know there's a trick to it, I just can't remember at the moment. I'm googling. I thought I'd found the answer, but the person who was replying clearly hasn't a clue what the question actually was, and answered. I can do it by hand, but I spent about an hour on it today and got about halfway through a page. Hmm. The acrobat page says I can change the way the pages are read, and that might change the way it's converted. And I can't remember how Photoshop opens PDFs. I'd really like to find a fast way to do this because a) it's boring and b)I don't need another reason, it's boring is enough.
