Feb. 24th, 2004 03:04 amsays my desktop now. Whee! It's a photo from my england collection.
And speaking of photos (Cathy! Pay attention!), my new OS does mean that my camera is useful again, and I can upload pictures again. So a quick refresher.

When my laptop got ill, it had all the pictures from the past few months on it, so I don't have the baby photos of Okie other than the handful I'd posted. Sadness!
my mom taught Darwin to like getting his head scratched, so he'll put his front legs on your thigh and ask for attention. It's also good for tricking him into coming out of the toyroom so I can shut the door. And Okie is obsessed with jumping up, so he likes to sit on the counter while I cook or do dishes. He's got a good dose of Maine Coon in him--those beautiful tufty ears, of course, but also his reach--he can almost get his paws on the counter already, and he's still puny. Basal, our pure Maine from years ago could steal food off the counters without jumping up. Okie's also fond of water. The pump on the pond in the toyroom stopped working, and when my mom was cleaning, she pulled a lot of cat hair out of it. :) It's not that he tries to catch the fish, it's just that he likes watching them with his paws dipped in the water. He also drinks water out of it, and one memorable day while the anesthetic was wearing off, he lost his balance while he tried walking on the edge, he slipped and dunked his tail. Which then was discovered to be a suspected enemy infiltrator and had to be chased for a few minutes. My mom and I were laughing so hard we couldn't stand up by that point. Luckily, tail cleaning takes precedence over being insulted that people are laughing at you.
