I am home from New York. Actually, I was home Friday evening, but didn't get around to updating anything. And I was in New Jersey for a few days there as well, but didn't update there either. Mostly because I can check email from my cell phone, but anything more complicated than that requires a computer. And we were cleaning at Andrea's. Everyone who wasn't there but was invited should be very sad because it was fabulously clean, and it was very fun.

Sunshine by Robin McKinley--much better than I'd expected )
Best spam headline lately: "essential chimera alternate" I really love the new spam with its tendency towards near coherence, but a very surrealistic coherence.

I am drinking raspberry hot chocolate from my St. Elmo's mug. The cocoa could be better, but I love the mug. Whee!

Heavens. Books I've finished since Jan first: Sunshine, Apocalipstick, The Nine Month Plan, Man of Many Talents, and No Man's Mistress. I'm halfway through Simply Sinful (which is on the desk near me, so I'll finish it soon) and Out and About (which I misplaced or I would have finished it already), and about 40 pages into Foreign Correspondents. Oh, and I finished the two Get Fuzzy books. I thought there was another in there as well. hmm. Maybe I'll find it. I have a couple of Scarborough books to re-read, the Wild Blue and the Grey, and all the new books I bought at Otto's this weekend, and a heck of a lot of other books in the house that I keep finding places where I stored them for later. My library books need to go back. And I forget which books I want to look for there, but oh well. Oh, heck, and there's a lot of magazines I mean to read. Most of which I'll probably never read, even though I always like them when I start.

Hmm. Lunch. I wonder what I was planning to eat. And then a shower and laundry. We have no laundry monster because I actually enjoy doing laundry as it's warm and make the house warmer. I hate putting away clothes though. When I grow up and have a boyfriend, I will wash clothes and load the dishwasher if he puts them away.

2.5 million returned Mills & Boon romance novels were used to produce a 16 mile stretch of the M6 toll road in Birmingham UK. Quote the project manager, "There is an old saying that the road to true love doesn't run smooth, but thanks to thousands of M&G romance novels, we hope the M6 toll road will."

Also, Bear sighting. And another Penguin imprint. says Jenny, " we're sprouting imprints like a chia pet sprouts green stuff" Which I needed to immortalize.

and a kids book by Joni Mitchell is forthcoming. Chelsea Morning, illustrated by Brian Froud. It's by Milk and Cookies, which is ibook's new imprint. And don't bother holding your breath because you'll have to wait until september to get it.

Long and probably boring, so you should be thankful for this cut. )

Oh, and a fun page. Russian Names and Nicknames I love Aloysha, and all the rest of the -shas.

For people who don't follow the news, like me, the invite codes for money deal has been put in effect. See http://www.livejournal.com/community/lj_biz/205605.html for details. And if you're all paid up and good to go, you can check http://www.livejournal.com/paidaccounts/friends.bml to see if you have any friends who could use a present.
