Today's reading: Finished up Midnight is a Place, by Jane Aiken, which I started yesterday.

Also, the next 4.5 stories in Conjunctions: Peter Straub, "Little Red's Tango." Probably the least speculative of the collection so far. but hey, he's the editor and it *was* a good story. It wasn't speculative so much as just...weird. James Morrow, "The Wisdom of the Skin." Sex concerts. Yeah, that about sums it up. Nalo Hopkinson, "Shift." God damn can she write. It's Greek myth and The Tempest and the frog prince and I'm pretty sure there was something else in there, probably Caribbean? with the biracial babies at least. And then Lethem, "The dystopianist, thinking of his rival, is interrupted by a knock at the door." Lethem's always so weird. Sylvia Plath Sheep indeed. And I've started Haldeman's 'From Guardian." I'm not sure if it's a piece from a bigger story, or just a weird title. After the last title, who can say. And next in the book is Meiville. Woohoo! China! Take it off!

So where does one acquire Conjunctions? It sounds cool!

I bought it at the World Fantasy convention. Your best bet is probably from the source: http://conjunctions.com/justout.htm 'Subscribe' has information on buying back issues.

So is this your subtle way of telling me that you HAVE the book I posted about and are reading it right now and boy is it good, neener neener?

Um...I don't know. I've had it for like, three months now, I just took a while to get started reading it. The first story was sort of slow and weird, and I put it down for two months. BUt this isn't the first time I've talked about it--I've mentioned it several times since November, so if you just found out about it, that's not my fault. :P
