I'm reading journals, and I'm going to kill people who seem to think that being a feminist means being more like a man. Drowning in a bucket is possibly too good for them.

I think it's inherently anti-feminist to think that there is such a thing as "being like a man" or "being like a woman." But then, I hate gender roles and all they stand for. With a fiery passion. Defining behavior in terms of "girl" and "boy" should only be done in silly fun.

Apparently, though, parents are still dreadfully concerned with raising their children in a strictly butch/fem way. I was looking at Pottery Barn Kids the other day, amazing amount of enforced gender id. I mean, in laundry baskets!

But yeah, you're right. And I think I read the same entry you're referring to. Being a feminist means believing that women should be allowed the same opportunities as men, but not that they have to behave in a certain way. The very idea that people should behave in any way, gender-wise, is silly.
