Jan. 1st, 2003 02:32 pmWhat I learned this year:
That said, I've officially made my first sub of the new year. We'll ignore that it was a bit of an accident, and that I had to resub it correctly or I'd be mortified with myself. But I have sent Firing the Dead to SH.
- to try new things
- that I can finish stories
- how to eat with chopsticks
- how to throw Frisbees with either hand or both.
- if you squeak when people spray you with a watergun, everyone will want to spray you with a watergun.
- that I can write a lot faster than I think I can
- not to second guess myself when writing
- not to reject myself. that's someone else's job, both on the personal and professional levels.
- I'm braver than I think I am a lot of the time.
- that if I want to learn more in the next year, I have to keep being brave, on a personal and professional level.

Me too, me too, me too!
Date: 2003-01-02 07:20 am (UTC)I almost never post comments on web sites, but yours was wonderful. What an eye. I'm inspired to dust the Pentax and get busy. Autumn leaves are great, but in the northern Minnesota sticks, they're gone, and I'll have to look harder to find great architecture. I may go more the direction of cows and horses.
And then there's the lessons you've learned this year, which brings me to my subject line. Actually, I'm not too bad with chopsticks, but the rest I'm working on.
