Dec. 31st, 2008 10:24 amI figured doing this on LJ was probably the fastest way to do this overall. But I was thinking about Gil yesterday, while talking with Jenny, and it occurred to me that for all of us, the way we met Gil was through books. And while I didn't know her as well as some others did, it seems to me, that the best way to remember her could be books--specifically, donations to a library in her name. I thought maybe a local-to-her (or her sister) library, though I don't know what that would be, or because international donations can sometimes be more trouble than good, perhaps one of the libraries from a disaster area in the US, at least for the US residents to give to in her name? (I was leaning towards Galveston ( http://rosenberg-library.org/ ) over New Orleans because there's a *book* called Galveston--see how my mind works there?--, but I'm open to suggestions if anyone can think of a better place to donate.)
So, does this sound like a good idea?
