okay. I don't know why the internet hates me, but there is not in existence a chart that converts DMC thread to any sort of silk thread with any reliability. I'm tired of my amaryllises, since they're almost done but the stupid dinky bits, and you try doing half stitches in beige thread on an 18 count tan back ground. My brain hurts.

But that might be the fault of "A note about the type." or to be exact, "A nOtE AbOUt thE tYpE." Hate him. Hate hate hate. I hope a book bites him.

Anyways, I like alternating between projects, and this would be a pefect one to alternate, if only I had the right materials. So if you know of a silk conversion chart anywhere, let me know. My second choice option is to have someone (my mom, probably) buy me the DMC threads, whereupon I would take them to the store and match them by hand. I probably should just give in and do it that way. I think there's a store in downtown crossing that carries the thread, even. I could get it tomorrow and then pick the silk on thursday. Or something like that.

Edit: I have the colors I need in DMC and Anchor. I would prefer to get a conversion to Needlepoint Inc Silk or Splendor, since there's a good store I can go to and look at the colors before I order them to make sure they're right looking. But if you know of conversions for other silks, I'll take suggestions. Particularly if it's "I've used this, and it's right," so I don't have to trust someone wasn't on crack (they were with the last conversion thing I tried. and not the good crack either. Oh, there's also Krenik silk Mori. But I'd have to take that on faith and guessing, which makes me nervous.
