(no subject)

You know, I was just thinking today that I don't believe I've ever heard anyone cover "Laid" And lo and behold, while looking up a new singer I bought the CD of on impulse, I find he covered Laid for the American Wedding soundtrack. Did a pretty good job with it too--I'm impressed. He's no Tim Booth, but then again, who is? It's a little thinner sounding than James, but I also often find that in lower budget productions--I adore Slack Jaw, but if you're listening to the depth of the music, it can end up running a little thin at times, probably due to the fact that it's a demo album. (and sucky though the rules may be for writers, they beat the *pants* off the rules for musicians, so think about that the next time you want to whine about sim subs.)

Lazy lazy weekend. I made oatmeal bread today because I wanted something sweet for desert, and it seemed logical to thus spend two hours making bread just to have a couple slices with honey before I came up to bed.

Jenny, this book is just for you.

I need to order new checks soon. Very soon. Probably either celestial or hi-tech. the choices, once you rule out unicorns, ;), are kinda limited and, well, ugly.

I've been itchy since dinner. It's sort of hives--I'm wondering if i ate something I'm allergic to or what, as it's just the back of one hand and part of my arm. then again, I'm just generally sickish--not the real sick, just the 'head stuffed up and ears hurting' sort of sick, which is the type of sick that usually involves hives. And it's now really late, and I should be asleep, should have been an hour ago, instead of messing about online looking at things I really don't care about.

Should I go see "A series of Unfortunate Events " tomorrow? Would your advice change if the movie was only going to cost me $5?

Until andrea sends me CDs, I will have to listen to the Killers via Real Player. I could also go listen to Laid again.

So far as the Firefly quiz is concerned, First time I got Inara. Wow. So wrong. Second time I got Mal. ;) I may have stretched my truths a little there, but not as much as Ms Jayne over there in the knitted cap.
