One of my friends sent an email about being one step closer to eventual architectural bliss. This either means he sent in his grad school applications, or that he's becoming a bridge. It's hard to say which, really.

Yesterday my day was pretty darn sucky and meh. and then I went home, and the kitchen was warm, and dinner smelled good, and "Our Love" was on and loud, and the boy was pleased to see me and gave me a hug and a kiss on the cheek when I went to warm my cold hands on his neck, and really, my whole evening stayed good like that. There was company at dinner, which usually makes us all act--not well behaved, really, cause we never do, but puts us on the top of our form, so there was joking and teasing and general funness and flirting, and it was just *good*. I miss Steve an awful lot since he moved out, it seems, especially later at night when we'd usually be the only ones awake, and thus this was a lot of fun--a good reminder that there are other people in the house who I care about, and who I get along with.

My mother, when I was talking to her on the phone, said, "you're going to end up single, but with whole stacks of guy friends who love you," and while that's not anything I'm aiming for, I can really think of worse places to be in life.

I was reading the walmart link that Peg Kerr had in her LJ, and it reminded me of the new game my brothers and I were considering: Go to walmart/kmart/target/what have you. Take the yellow ribbon magnets off all the cars. Put them all over the biggest SUV you can find in the parking lot. Enjoy the irony. (for walmart parking lots, we recommend parking off the lot and wearing clothing that will hinder identification, as they're all very well monitored with video cameras.)
